Pilot 3 current implementation

What this pilot includes

Status date: 2026-08-19 · Content owner: Pilot Product Owner · Last reviewed: 2026-08-19

This is an internal Pilot 3 experience for synthetic or deliberately created non-sensitive material. It is not production use, a compliance certification, or support for external organizations. Stage B and customer onboarding remain unavailable unless separately authorized.

Available in this pilot

Not available in this pilot

  • Downloading, printing, or offline access to the original PDF.
  • Automatic email delivery, mailbox interception, or Microsoft Graph integration.
  • External organizations, customer onboarding, production use, or compliance claims.

Possible future capability

Broader documentation, translation, and feedback workflows may be considered later. This is context only, not a roadmap, promise, or approved commitment.

Sign in and first-sign-in readiness

How do I sign in?

Use the sign-in option on the Cipherium home page with the account your organization approved. A protected path is only a locator; it does not grant access by itself.

Why am I “Waiting for first sign-in”?

An administrator has approved your email, but Cipherium has not yet bound it to your verified sign-in identity. Complete one sign-in with that exact approved account. Until then, document owners cannot grant you access.

What if I use the wrong account?

Return to Cipherium and sign in with the approved account. Cipherium gives a generic unavailable message before authorization so it does not reveal document or organization details.

Share and copy a protected path

Who can receive access?

A document owner can grant an active employee in the same organization. Someone who is waiting for first sign-in or suspended is not ready to receive a grant.

How do I hand off access?

  1. Choose an eligible employee and choose one access limit: an expiry date/time or a maximum number of successful views.
  2. For an expiry, choose at least 15 minutes and stay within your organization’s limit (up to 90 days). For a view limit, choose a whole number from 1 to 100.
  3. Confirm the recipient, access limit, watermark choice, and displayed timezone where an expiry is used.
  4. After Cipherium confirms the grant, copy the protected path and send it using your organization’s approved communication method.

The recipient can see the terms that apply to the grant. Access ends when the expiry is reached, the maximum successful-view count is reached, or the owner revokes access. A replacement or renewal does not allow the recipient to change the original grant terms.

Cipherium does not send an email. If clipboard access is unavailable, select and copy the displayed path manually. Copying the path again does not change the grant.

Do not add an email address, name, token, or other personal information to a protected path.

View a protected document

Open the protected path and sign in if prompted. Portrait pages start at a capped Readable width for ordinary reading. You can choose Fit page for an overview, move with Previous and Next, and zoom in or out. Navigation stops at the first and last page.

Every newly requested page is checked against current access. Zooming an already displayed page does not perform a new access check.

Protected viewing does not provide the original PDF, download, print, offline use, editing, or a document key.

When access ends

Access can become unavailable because a grant expired or was revoked, your membership was suspended, or the document was archived. The next new page request is denied. Return to Cipherium and check Shared with me, then contact the document owner or an administrator if you believe access should still be active.

A temporary service or connection failure is different. Use Try again after checking your connection. A temporary failure does not mean access was denied.

Cipherium cannot recall pages that were already displayed or captures that were already made.

Watermarks and capture risk

Personalized watermarking is mandatory. The owner may choose from the approved watermark options, but the server still derives the viewer identity and viewing context from the signed-in session and burns them into each delivered page. A viewer cannot turn the watermark off or substitute another identity.

A watermark discourages casual misuse and keeps attribution visible, but it cannot prevent screenshots, photographs, OCR, cropping, editing, or manual reconstruction. Only open protected content on a device and in a location permitted by your organization.

Privacy-safe troubleshooting

Sign-in keeps returning me to the start
Confirm you are using the administrator-approved account. Close other account sessions if your identity provider repeatedly selects the wrong one.
The document says unavailable
Return to Cipherium and check Shared with me. Do not ask someone to confirm a title or owner in an unauthenticated message; contact the owner through an approved channel.
A page will not load
Check your connection and use Try again. If other pages work but a new page remains unavailable, current access may have changed.
Copy does not work
Select the displayed path and use your browser or operating system copy command. Never paste session tokens, browser storage, or diagnostic headers into a support request.
